Delicious, Homemade Low Carb Ranch Dressing

The key to making an amazing salad often lies in the dressing. A great dressing can really take a salad from being boring to being really fantastic. One of the best, most loved dressing out there is definitely ranch dressing. In fact, ranch dressing is the number one dressing in the United States according to the Association for Dressings and Sauces (yes, that is a real association!). So, of course, we need to make sure that there are great keto ranch dressing options in the world. Our low carb ranch dressing recipe is the best we have ever tried.

Did you even know that there were carbs in ranch dressing? There definitely are! Store-bought ranch dressing is full of hidden carbs that you may never have even known about- until now. Sugar is a common ingredient in ranch dressing and that is something that you need to avoid when trying to stick to a keto diet. Sure, the sugar adds a touch of sweetness to the buttermilk, herb dressing but there are other ways to get that sweet flavor- keto ways!

We use Greek yogurt to make our low carb ranch dressing and find that it has the perfect, subtle sweetness to it. We also add in ½ teaspoon of powdered erythritol to make the ranch dressing even more like the kind you buy in the bottle..just without the carbs. Powdered erythritol will blend right into the creamy dressing, melting completely so there is no gritty texture. Of course, erythritol is completely keto-friendly so you can enjoy this dressing guilt-free!

The hallmark of ranch dressing is the perfectly balanced herb flavor. We have mixed and tasted, altered and adjusted our recipe to ensure that it has the right amount of spices. Parsley, chives, and dill are always necessary when making ranch dressing. These are the main herbs that you taste in the dressing. We like to use dried herbs rather than fresh mostly to make sure the dressing has a good texture. Fresh parsley, dill and chives would make a very different tasting ranch. Stick to the dried herbs for this recipe so that you get that classic ranch taste you are looking for.

To make our keto ranch dressing, all you really need is one big bowl and a spoon. Mix everything together until the dressing is smooth and well blended. It will take about 5 minutes to make 16 servings of dressing (that’s the same amount as in a standard dressing bottle!). Once mixed, store the dressing in an airtight container in the fridge. It will stay fresh for about 2 weeks so be sure to use every drop before then!

Low carb ranch dressing is delicious on salads, perfect as a veggie dip and it even makes for a tasty chicken marinade. Just because you are on the keto diet doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the best dressing in the US! Everyone deserves to have a great ranch dressing in their lives and this recipe is it! Enjoy.
