Gym owner and home health nurse, Lisa Corkran, just added another title to her repertoire: restaurant owner. Fit ‘n Fat Grill opened this week in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The menu, designed to meet dietary requirements of those on keto, paleo, gluten-free and even vegan diets, will consist of sports bar or pub food favorites.
Low-Carb Bar Food
Corkran began a ketogenic lifestyle over a year ago. Like many starting this way of eating, she began noting the lack of options for low-carb dieters while dining out. In order to answer the demand for restaurants serving specialty diets, Lisa has begun planning the opening of her restaurant. The burgers, wings, mozzarella sticks, and pizza will be made with low-carb and healthy ingredients, making the Fit ‘n Fat Grill poised to be a favorite for those in the area that follow a restrictive diet. Coincidentally, the Fit ‘n Fat Grill is in the same neighborhood as Lisa’s Iron Horse Fitness gym and will give her the opportunity to expand her business within the community.
In addition to offering a relaxing atmosphere for diners, Lisa also plans to offer meal prep services through the Fit ‘n Fat Grill’s kitchen. So, busy local dieters can have their meals conveniently prepared for them.
Fit ‘n Fat Grill is the latest in a growing trend by restaurants to offer low-carb fare. This is indicative of the increasing popularity of the low-carb diet and lifestyle.
