Ketologie, a health and wellness company in Dallas, Texas, promotes a high-fat, low-carb diet with a unique keto program and line of products. They were appalled by the upward trend in diabetes over the past four decades and decided to do something about it. Now they’re trying to encourage healthier eating habits around the United States through their shakes and bone broths.

Shaking Up the Standard American Diet

For decades now, the U.S. has blindly taken the USDA’s Food Pyramid as the holy grail of healthy eating. Yet, Ketologie and other wellness advocates noted that the pyramid grossly overestimates how many carbohydrates the average American needs. Meanwhile, it only calls for 5-10 percent overall fat. On the other hand, the keto diet calls for almost a complete 180 in terms of fat and carb consumption. People following this lifestyle typically eat about 70 percent fat, 25 percent protein, and 5 percent carbohydrates. It turns out those fat-free products of the past had it all wrong.

Too many carbohydrates raise blood sugar levels and can inhibit an individual’s ability to control their sugar levels naturally. This can lead to type 2 diabetes, which affects over 29 million people in the United States. Type 2 diabetes is linked to the Standard American Diet (SAD), which includes lots of processed foods and added sugars. One study showed that the majority of people with this disease don’t exercise regularly, either¹. Ketologie and others are pushing for more awareness about healthy nutrition and movement.

Ketologie’s Products

The health and wellness company offers a range of keto-friendly food and beverage items, including protein shakes and bone broth. Their protein powders contain less than two grams of net carbs per serving and are free of artificial sweeteners. Their collagen bone broth is sugar and carb-free and comes in Roasted Chicken or Smoky Beef. Collagen has become a buzzword in the health and fitness community lately, as it’s the most prevalent protein found in the human body. It feeds the bones and skin and provides support for muscles, tendons, and ligaments. By a person’s ’20s, their natural production of collagen begins to slow down.

Ketologie offers a line of keto shakes and broths on their website as well as in Vitamin Shoppe stores around the country. The company hopes to reach more consumers and continue advocating for the benefits of going keto. Their timing is excellent as the ketogenic diet continues to surge in popularity. Plus, studies show that bone marrow can help reduce joint pain and ease inflammation.

A Worthwhile Goal

The shakes and broth may be a great addition to people’s diets. Another study reported that those who replaced typical SAD meals with a nutritional supplement had more weight loss success than those who didn’t change their diet.² Hopefully, others will follow in Ketologie’s footsteps and fight against poor nutrition and disease.
